IAR delegations at international bioeconomy events
The IAR Cluster tracks international meetings where key players in bioeconomics can be found, and sets up IAR delegations. The aim is to continue actions which allowed the IAR Cluster and its members to gain recognition as a French power in the industrial biotechnology and plant chemistry sectors, and to establish new partnerships between French and foreign specialists.
The IAR Cluster and its members are today recognised and identified in Europe, Canada and USA as a French power in industrial biotechnology and plant chemistry.
In this process, the IAR Cluster continues to establish relationships between its members and foreign partners by sending delegations to international events.
Member delegations are therefore formed under the aegis of the IAR Cluster to establish B2B contacts and promote skills and know-how.
Report on the ‘biopolymer’ mission (28 November to 2 December 2011)
France Green Plastics, which combines the Céréales Vallée Céréales Vallée, IAR and Plastipolis competitiveness clusters, in partnership with Ubifrance and DGCIS , tasked its members with finding technology partners in biobased polymers in Japan between 28 November and 2 December 2011.
The French delegation for this mission comprised 12 members representing 7 businesses (mainly SMEs).
Around ten businesses and research centres were visited, the aim being to highlight new opportunities to open the way for setting up French-Japanese collaborative projects.
The exchange was concerned with the interests, constraints and opportunities for biobased polymers in areas including automobiles, textiles, packaging films, electronics, construction, foodstuffs and medicines.
Thanks to the condensed nature of the visit and its excellent organisation, numerous contacts were established, opening the way for future collaborations.
