Options opened up by biorefining are numerous and expanding, making room for an increasingly growing market.
Plant use in biorefining leads to the production of agro-materials, biomolecules, bioenergy and ingredients for food and feed (link to tabs below), all used in manufacturing intermediary or end products with the same technical performance as those using fossil fuels.
However, there is a difference in that applications of biorefined products considerably reduce the environmental impact.
The four areas – agro-materials, biomolecules, bioenergy and ingredients – structure the Industry & Agro-Resource (IAR) Cluster’s activities and its thematic commissions. (link to organisation – commissions)
